Bedminster Township

Welcome to Bedminster Township, NJ

Charming and picturesque, Bedminster welcomes you. This northern New Jersey town sports a delightful old-country look, but don’t think that modern amenities are in short supply.

First settled in 1710, and incorporated in 1749, Bedminster has historic ties to America’s early years. The township is home to one of the nation’s most historic Revolutionary War sites: the Pluckemin Continental Artillery Cantonment, a winter encampment and officer training facility renowned as the forerunner of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Much of the local architecture dates back to the 19th and early 20th centuries, and you’ll see many businesses operating out of (former) Victorian- and Colonial-style homes.

Crime is low in Bedminster, and thanks to local zoning laws, blaring neon signs and dingy fast-food franchises are nowhere to be found. Families will also appreciate the high value Bedminster places on education. The public school system boasts impressively low student/teacher and student/counselor ratios, and the gorgeous Clarence Dillon Public Library features an extensive collection of books, films, music, and historical documents.
